Community Garden Planting Day Draws More Than 50 Volunteers

It was a productive morning in the garden as more than 50 volunteers came together to plant nine garden beds for the fall growing season.

The volunteer crew included 15 Pinewood students, students from UNC Charlotte and Queens University, OurBRIDGE leaders, parents, teachers, and other community volunteers. Working side by side, they planted broccoli, cauliflower, collards, beets, lettuce, kale, carrots, spinach, and snap peas.

Thanks to everyone's hard work, all nine beds were planted in just a few hours. The garden will provide hands-on learning opportunities and fresh produce in the months ahead.

A huge thank you to everyone who showed up ready to dig, plant, and work together. It was a great example of what can be accomplished when members of our community come together around a shared project.
