Walk With Us. Change Lives.
For more than three decades, RAIN has shown up for our neighbors living with HIV, and Myers Park Baptist Church has been there from the very beginning. As one of RAIN’s founding congregations, MPBC has supported this work with funding, leadership, and faithful volunteers for 33 years—and we are not stopping now.
This year marks RAIN’s 34th anniversary, and the need is as urgent as ever.
On Saturday, May 30, thousands will step off together for AIDS Walk Charlotte, the Carolinas’ largest HIV awareness and fundraising event. Over 2,000 walkers will move through uptown Charlotte to honor lives lost, celebrate lives changed, and advocate for an HIV‑free future.
We want MPBC to be visible, joyful, and strong among them.
Right now, our team is small—but our goal is bold. We are working to raise $7,500, and we’re already within $3,000 of making that happen. Every new walker and every donation brings us closer to the support RAIN provides every day: housing stability, medical care coordination, prevention services, and compassionate accompaniment for people living with HIV.
While HIV is now considered a manageable condition, it is not manageable for everyone. In North Carolina and throughout the South, HIV continues to be driven by stigma, poverty, and deep racial inequities. RAIN meets these realities with dignity, respect, and practical support—helping people stay in treatment and live long, healthy lives.
This is where we come in.
You can:
- Join the MPBC team and walk with us (kids, pets, and first-time walkers welcome!)
- Make a donation to support RAIN’s life‑saving work
- Do both—walk and fundraise to multiply your impact
Let’s show up for our neighbors. Let’s walk in faith, hope, and solidarity. And let’s finish strong.
